Duckhams Yuasa Racing set for Porsche championship showdowns

Duckhams Yuasa Racing heads into the final rounds of both the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Porsche Sprint Challenge GB this weekend (3–5 October), with Max Coates and Jacob Tofts both firmly in contention for their respective championship titles.

The season finale takes place on the iconic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in Kent and Jacob arrives second in the RS Pro standings in the Sprint Challenge, just nine points off the lead. With more than 30 points available across three races, he will be looking to add to his tally of two wins and nine additional podium finishes in 2025.

Max is also very much in the fight for Carrera Cup Pro-Am honours, despite a challenging weekend last time out at Silverstone. In his debut season in the series, he has secured two class victories and six further podiums and enters the final round 16 points adrift of the top spot, with 33 points still on the line across the two races.

Both drivers will take part in two 45-minute practice sessions on Friday, 3 October, before qualifying begins on Saturday morning. The Sprint Challenge grid will be set at 09:00, ahead of its opening race at 13:15, while Carrera Cup qualifying follows at 15:15.

Sunday features four championship-deciding races, with the Sprint Challenge contesting its final two rounds at 10:00 and 14:45, while the Carrera Cup season concludes with two 17-lap races at 12:40 and 16:35. The final Sprint and both Carrera Cup races can also be seen live as part of ITV4’s coverage in the UK, or on the BTCC YouTube channel (except the UK and USA).

#27 Jacob Tofts – Porsche Sprint Challenge GB

RS Pro Championship: 2nd (99 points)

Brands Hatch GP is the perfect place to end the year – it’s a wonderful circuit. I have great memories of wrapping up the Am title there last year, and the Grand Prix section is a real joy to drive. I’m pleased to still be in the championship fight after the difficult start we had to the season. Since then, we’ve been consistent and closed the gap, and the 21-point swing at Silverstone has given us momentum. We know we have a real chance this weekend.

#71 Max Coates – Porsche Carrera Cup GB

Pro-Am Championship: 2nd (99 points)
I can’t wait to drive the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car around the Brands Hatch GP circuit – it’s one of my favourites, and to race there in such an iconic car is going to be special. This season with Duckhams Yuasa Racing has been a dream come true, so I can’t believe there’s only one weekend left. Hopefully we can finish on a high and leave with big smiles. For me, that means fighting for – and hopefully winning – the championship.
