Duckhams Yuasa Racing looking forward to Porsche Carrera Cup challenge at Thruxton

After a two-month break, Duckhams Yuasa Racing returns to action this weekend as the second half of the Carwow Porsche Carrera Cup GB season gets underway.
 
Following a successful start to the year, where driver Jacob Tofts has claimed four podium finishes and one Pro-Am class victory, he heads to Hampshire looking to continue his championship charge aboard the team's Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
 
Tofts has steadily built momentum throughout his rookie Carrera Cup GB campaign. After recovering from a difficult opening weekend at Donington Park, the former Porsche Sprint Challenge GB champion secured his maiden Pro-Am victory at Brands Hatch before adding two further podium finishes at Snetterton, leaving him firmly in championship contention heading into the second half of the season. He currently sits third in the Pro-Am standings, within striking distance of the championship leaders.
 
Attention now turns to Thruxton, the fastest circuit in the UK, for rounds seven and eight of the 2026 season. At 2.365 miles in length, the Hampshire venue presents one of the championship's biggest challenges. Its combination of flat-out straights, high-speed sweeping corners and technical chicanes demands a unique setup compromise, while the abrasive circuit surface places enormous stress on the Michelin tyres. Success will depend on finding the right balance between outright speed and tyre preservation across both races.
 
Track action begins on Friday with two free practice sessions at 10:20 and 14:00, before the return of split qualifying on Saturday at 09:30 and 13:30. The two 22-lap races take place on Sunday, with race one scheduled for 10:50 before the second encounter brings the weekend to a close at 15:20.

I'm really looking forward to Thruxton. I’ve never raced there before, but it's going to be quick. The test last month was really useful, however there’s definitely going to be a lot to learn to make sure we're on the pace. It’s the quickest track in the country, so I'm really excited to get on track and get up to speed. It should be fun to stretch the legs of the Porsche Cup car.

I've done some races on the sim in the esports Carrera Cup. So, I have a good idea, but nothing replaces that feeling of speed. It's just about taking what I've learnt in the sim and transferring as much as I can. We had the test there recently, which went well, so we should be well prepared.
