FROM SIM TO REALITY CHALLENGE 2026
OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last Updated: June 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before entering the From Sim to Reality Challenge 2026 (the "Competition"). By registering and entering the Competition, you ("the Participant", "Competitor", or "you") agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
The Competition is organised and managed by Absolute Agency on behalf of Duckhams Yuasa Racing (collectively referred to as "the Organisers").
1. ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION
1.1. Platform Requirements: The Competition is open to individuals who possess valid, active player accounts on either the iRacing or Assetto Corsa online simulation platforms.
1.2. Licencing & Medical Restrictions:
- The winner must be able to satisfy the legal, medical, and testing criteria required to hold a full ARDS Race Licence in the United Kingdom.
- Competitors must be physically fit to participate in real-world karting and high-performance circuit driving.
- 1.3. Age Limits & Grand Prize Eligibility:
- Drivers under the age of 16: Are fully welcome to register, partake in the Phase 1 online qualifying rounds, and compete in the Phase 2 live Karting shootout at Daytona Milton Keynes. However, they are strictly ineligible to win the Grand Prize (the Mini Trophy Championship race drive) due to real-world circuit age restrictions.
- Drivers aged 16 and 17: Are eligible for the Grand Prize but must obtain explicit prior consent from a parent or legal guardian to register, complete ARDS testing, and compete.
- 1.4. Ineligible Drivers (The Celebrity Driver Rule): Professional racing talent affiliated with the project—specifically including Dan Cammish, Adam Smalley, Jacob Tofts, and Ian Gough—are explicitly excluded from winning any prizes. Should they participate in any element of the challenge, they will start from the back of the grid and their finishing positions will be omitted from prize or phase progression calculations.
2. FEES & CHARITABLE DONATIONS
2.1. Entry Fee: The fee to enter Phase 1 (Sim Challenge) is £20 per entry.
2.2. Entry Caps: To ensure fairness, standard entries are strictly capped at a maximum of 5 entries per person.
2.3. No Hidden Costs: Once an entry fee is paid, there are no additional costs or hidden fees required to progress through any subsequent stage of the Competition.
2.4. Charitable Commitment: This Competition is a fundraising initiative for the David Riddell Memorial CIO, dedicated to raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. 100% of all entry fees go directly to the charity. All operational, platform, and administrative costs of running the event are fully covered by Absolute Agency and its corporate partners.
2.5. Refunds: All entry fees are immediate charitable donations and are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including internet disconnections or hardware failure.
3. COMPETITION FORMAT & STRUCTURE
The competition is split into two distinct phases:
PHASE 1: SIM CHALLENGE (Virtual)
3.1. Platforms & Sessions: The Sim Challenge runs simultaneously across iRacing and Assetto Corsa. Upon registration via the Duckhams Yuasa Racing website, drivers will be assigned to an official practice session evening.
3.2. Session Allowances: Each paid entry grants the user 1 official session (up to a maximum of 5 entries/sessions per person).
3.3. Schedule: Initial sessions occur over 7 evenings, featuring 3 official password-protected qualifying sessions per night (6:00pm–7:00pm, 7:00pm–8:00pm, and 8:00pm–9:00pm GMT).
3.4. Car & Setup: All competitors must use the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car utilising a strictly locked, fixed setup to guarantee a level playing field.
3.5. Circuits: Tracks will be selected from those used by Porsche Motorsport during the 2026 season. The track layout for the evening will be officially announced exactly 1 hour prior to the session start time.
3.6. Sim Progression Hierarchy:
- The Starting Grid (Sim Phase 1): 1-hour qualifying sessions. The top 5 fastest drivers plus 1 wildcard entrant from each session progress to the next round.
- The Progression (Sim Phase 2): 1-hour qualifying sessions. The fastest 8 drivers from each session across the 3 nightly slots progress to the Grand Final.
- The Grand Final (Sim Phase 3): 24 drivers per platform will compete in a live final consisting of a 15-minute Free Practice, 15-minute Qualifying, and a 25-minute Race.
- The top 10 drivers overall from the Grand Finals across both iRacing and Assetto Corsa (20 drivers total) automatically qualify for Phase 2.
PHASE 2: KARTING SHOOTOUT (Real-World)
3.7. Event Details: Qualified drivers will advance to the live Karting Challenge shootout held at Daytona Milton Keynes.
3.8. Charitable Wild Cards: To maximise fundraising for the David Riddell Memorial, exactly 4 Wild Card entries will be made available for Phase 2. A direct, verified donation of £1,000 to the charity will activate a Wild Card slot, bypassing the Phase 1 Sim Challenge entirely.
4. PRIZES & GRAND PRIZE CONDITIONS
4.1. The Grand Prize: The overall winner of the From Sim to Reality Challenge 2026 receives a fully funded race drive in the Mini Trophy Championship at the Donington Park GP Circuit (supporting the British Touring Car Championship - BTCC) on 22nd–23rd August 2026, racing with Graves Motorsport.
4.2. Grand Prize Package Inclusions:
- The fully funded Mini Trophy race drive and a pre-race test day.
- Full ARDS race licence training and testing.
- Complete bespoke race kit supplied by FREEM UK and a race helmet.
- 2 x VIP hospitality tickets to a 2026 BTCC event as guests of Duckhams Yuasa Racing.
- A short track test in a Porsche Sprint Challenge car at Silverstone in November 2026 (Subject to availability).
- Official Duckhams Yuasa Racing team merchandise and media training.
- Official listing as a Duckhams Yuasa Racing team driver on the website.
4.3. Mandatory ARDS Clause: Winning the prize drive is strictly conditional upon the winner successfully passing their ARDS test and acquiring their competitive race licence. If the winner fails the medical or practical ARDS requirements, or cannot complete the test within the designated timeframe required by the team, the Organizers reserve the right to pass the prize drive to the runner-up.
4.4. Aesthetic/Participation Prizes: Additional prizes (including team merchandise, passenger rides in a Porsche Carrera Cup GT3 car, BTCC tickets, and signed memorabilia) will be distributed throughout the season randomly or via participation milestones. Drivers do not need to be the fastest on track to win participation rewards.
4.5. Under-16 Prize Forfeiture: In the event that a driver under the age of 16 wins the overall Competition or finishes in a position that qualifies for the Grand Prize drive, they will be awarded an alternative prize package (such as a simulator gear package, VIP hospitality tickets, and team merchandise), and the Mini Trophy Championship race drive will automatically pass down to the highest-scoring eligible driver aged 16 or over.
5. CODE OF CONDUCT & SIMULATION ETHICS
5.1. Sportsmanship: All participants must demonstrate clean, respectful sportsmanship. Driving standards will be monitored during final events.
5.2. Cheating & Exploits: The use of hardware macros, software exploits, network manipulation, or hacking to gain an unfair advantage on iRacing or Assetto Corsa will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban from future Duckhams Yuasa Racing events.
5.3. Platform Rules: Participants must adhere to the end-user licence agreements (EULA) of iRacing and Assetto Corsa. Any account bans issued by the host platforms during the competition timeline will void the entry.
6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & GOVERNING LAW
6.1. Technical Faults: The Organizers are not responsible for software crashes, local internet disconnection, electrical failure, or server-side lag that impacts a participant's qualifying time or race position.
6.2. Real-world Racing Risks: Motorsport is inherently dangerous. Participation in Phase 2 (Karting) and the Grand Prize (Mini Trophy Drive) is subject to signing separate liability waivers provided by the venue operators (Daytona) and the race team (Graves Motorsport).
6.3. Jurisdiction: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
